Having fun is the best way to learn. Explore ways in which you can get your community excited about hemp, and start planning your own event now!
Welcome Grassroots Organizers!
Join us in supporting the legalization of hemp farming in the United States! Every year in June, you have the opportunity to join our grassroots movement and be one of hundreds of organizers that hold fun hemp events throughout the country. Celebrate hemp this year and educate your own community about its many benefits!
Let’s reach as many people as possible, and get them as excited about the hemp plant as we are. Organizing a hemp event in your community is an excellent way to capture people’s attention and make sure you leave an impression they will remember.
Will you join us this year in spreading the word about hemp?
The Power of Education through Events
Over the last 8 years, Hemp History Week community organizers, like you, have opened people’s hearts and minds to hemp. There are many ways to educate people. Common approaches include writing an article, giving a PowerPoint presentation, or engaging social media. These are certainly useful ways to share information. However, studies have shown that people process and remember information much better when more than one of their senses is involved. What if they don’t only see or hear about hemp, but they can touch, smell, and taste it too? Herein lies your power to organize an impactful event!
Hemp is an incredibly versatile plant, and with that it also provides you with many opportunities to create a stimulating experience for people. Not only does exploring the many sides of hemp encourage learning, it is also a great opportunity to have a lot of fun!
You can invite your peers to taste a hemp-infused meal, let them touch different hemp fabrics, or feel how sturdy hemp plastic can be. They can see how beautiful hemp fashion looks, play tug of war with hemp rope, get a massage with hemp oil, create hemp jewelry, or get their hands dirty building a wall out of hempcrete! The options are countless.
Events in all Shapes and Forms
How would you educate your community about hemp? Get your creative juices flowing, and imagine what would be the most exciting and effective way to get your message across.

Have an idea for a great hemp event? Great! Now what? To help your planning and event go smoothly, we’ve developed an Event Resource Portal, complete with ideas for planning an event, resources to recruit support, promotional materials and graphics, and so much more! The Portal has everything you need to hit the ground running!
Although most events will take place between June 4-10 this year, consider getting started early by organizing an event this spring! Many local organizations and campuses organize events during these days that you can join with an awesome hemp education activity! Check the following links to find Earth Day events and Arbor Day events near you.
