Join us this special tenth annual Hemp History Week and organize your own hemp event!
We did it! Hemp farming is legal across the U.S., thanks to the recent passage of the Farm Bill with the Hemp Farming Amendment. This June, join us in victory across the country as we embark on a new era of hemp cultivation in American soil. We are reclaiming the virtues of hemp after more than 80 years of prohibition, and writing a new history of hemp for future generations of farmers, consumers, and manufacturers!
Let’s build momentum to spread the new hopeful message about hemp wide and far! Organizing a hemp event in your community is an excellent way to capture people’s attention and tell them all about the Return of the Plant.
Events in all Shapes and Forms
Over the last 9 years, community organizers like you have opened people’s hearts and minds to hemp through Hemp History Week events.
Hemp is an incredibly versatile plant and provides you with many opportunities to create a fun experience for people. You can invite your friends to taste a hemp-infused meal, let them touch different hemp fabrics, or feel how sturdy hemp plastic can be. They can see how beautiful hemp fashion looks, play tug of war with hemp rope, get a massage with hemp oil, create hemp jewelry, or get their hands dirty building a wall out of hempcrete! The options are endless.
How will you educate your community about hemp this year? Get your creative juices flowing, and imagine what would be the most exciting and effective way to get your message across.
Here are some examples of fun events, but of course you can also develop your own idea:
o Hemp documentary screening
o Hemp planting event at a farm
o Hempcrete building workshop
o Hemp fashion show
o Benefit concert
o Retail store celebration
o Hemp foods sampling or cooking demonstration
o Café & restaurant specials
o Hemp jewelry making workshop
o Hemp health & CBD workshop
o Talk at your local library
o College campus event
o Booth at a farmers’ market
o …and so much more!
Let’s get started!

Although most events will take place between June 3-9 this year, consider getting started early by organizing an event this spring! Spring is the time that new hemp fields are planted, and we gear up to celebrate Earth Day (April 22) and Arbor Day (April 26). Many local organizations and campuses organize events during these days that you can join with an awesome hemp education activity! Check the following links to find existing Earth Day events and Arbor Day events that you can join and where you can introduce hemp.
